Learning From My Wagering Failures

[ English ]

First to explain the reason I wrote this essay. I have been wagering on the net or at a brick and mortar casinos for many years. I have learned, the dependency can take a hold of you and you won’t even notice it until you are penniless. Particularly if you’re on a winning run. I’ve gone through many tens of thousands of dollars in a very short amount of time and to this day on occasion, I will go a bit too far. It appears you’re just having a blast until you decide to be aware of your losses and the guilt settles in, and then you continue to tell yourself "I can get it back" repeatedly. It does not works. Then you feel queasy in your gut and the harder you try the faster you lose.

When you notice that you’re ahead, remain on the UP! When you start to lose, do not say to yourself, "well just maybe just one more" and again and again, believe me, this method almost never ever functions. Say you are playing on slots, have a bankroll set aside prior to beginning your play. DO NOT exceed that limit, no matter how alluring. If you happen to succeed, put that in a different canister. Do not spend your winnings no matter what. Once you have played through your original set limit, stop. Head out, whether it’s on the net or at a land based casino, don’t stick around. Always keep in mind, there will be another day, a different time.

Always remember, wagering should be exciting not backbreaking, sickening work! If you aren’t having fun yourself, you don’t belong there. If youcan not manage the loss, do not even begin.
