Cambodia Gambling Halls
There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, in which gambling den betting is against the law. Eight gambling dens are situated in a generally tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent spot, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing capital accrued from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of controls constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; although, financial sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 1700, and though visas are supposedly required to cross, there are methods around this, as is real of most borders.
The first Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked barge gambling hall, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machines and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of 21, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. There are 150 slot machine games and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred one armed bandits and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and sixty six of the normal gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an international resort and hotel building that highlights many conveniences in addition to the gambling hall, which houses 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and eighty eight table games.
